MYOTHERAPY

Myotherapy consists of assessing, treating, and managing the pain associated with soft tissue injury and restricted joint mobility which has been caused by myofascia or muscle dysfunction.

The compact, tough tissue which covers and surrounds all of your bones and muscle is known as Myofascia. It can be likened to a complete body suit which runs from the top of your head to the ends of your toes and is strong and flexible. It’s continuous with no beginning and no end and connects every part of your body together. In its normal healthy state it is relaxed and soft and can move and stretch without restriction.

Our myotherapists have undergone specialist training to detect and treat the cause of your problems. As well as massage techniques, a myotherapist uses a range of other therapies including:

  • Muscle stretching
  • Passive stretching (gently moving the affected body part through its range of motion)
  • Dry Needling
  • Cupping
  • Acupressure to trigger points
  • Muscle energy techniques (METS)

Some of the conditions we have successfully treated include:

  • Back pain
  • Neck and shoulder pain
  • Headache
  • Sports injuries
  • Rotator cuff problems
  • Occupational injuries
  • Achilles tendinopathy and other ankle injuries
  • Jaw pain and clicking
  • Fibromyalgia and other chronic pain presentations
  • Tennis elbow

REMEDIAL MASSAGE

Remedial Massage is a hands-on modality that aims to improve and aid in the repair of musculoskeletal aches and pains, injuries and postural imbalances caused by tension in the muscles or other soft tissue components such as fascia, tendons and ligaments.

Remedial massage has the ability to restore the body’s own healing potential by balancing soft tissue length, reducing tension and improving our body’s ability to heal by enhancing nutrient delivery to the affected site and removing waste products (i.e. damaged cells and scar tissue) via the blood and lymphatic system.

VIBROSAUN

How the Vibrosaun works

The Vibrosaun is basically a therapeutic dry sauna consisting of a padded vibrating bed, dry heat that circulates throughout the unit over and under the bed, negative iron charged air to keep the head and face cool.

Designed to be controlled from within by the client, the Vibrosaun machine looks like a more comfortable version of a toning table with a large lid on top. It functions as a combined sauna and vibration massage machine: the vibration stimulates and relaxes the muscles, while the dry heat dilates the blood vessels and increases the metabolism and pulse rate. This in turn increases the blood flow and intake of oxygen, to create energy and burn carbohydrates, protein and fat cells. Kidney function is also accelerated, assisting the removal of lactic acid and blood wastes.

As the head is not enclosed, there is no feeling of claustrophobia or suffocating heat. The machine also has a fan built into the headrest to ensure you are constantly wafted with cool, fresh air.

All functions are controlled from within the unit by the user. This gives personal control over preferences such as heat, degree of vibration and face-fan velocity.
